Michael Halperin
Michael Halperin is a Principal Consultant with Transformation Strategies. He has over 20 years of experience in the
technology industry with start-up, mid-sized and Fortune 100 firms. In addition
to Managed Services, his unusually diverse background includes sales, sales
engineering, operations, solution design and deployment, professional services
and business process management. In September of 2009, Michael was named to the
MSPMentor 250, in recognition of his leadership in the Managed Services
industry.
Michael’s
Managed Services experience began with Xerox Business Services in 1996 where he
led complex document management projects with enterprise customers. Michael left Xerox in 2000 to become Director
of Client Operations for hosted CRM provider eAssist, and joined Sprint in
2001, initially as Director of Solutions Architecture for Sprint e|Solutions
(Sprint’s Managed Hosting division). In
his five years with Sprint, Michael held multiple positions including Director
of National Managed Services Sales, Director of Technical Solutions
Architecture, and Director of Managed Services Product Development. In 2006, he joined Akibia of Westborough, MA
as Vice President of Technology. There he was instrumental in the re-launch of
Akibia’s Managed Services business and was the chief architect of the firm’s
Managed Services strategy. Across all
these roles, Michael has established a consistent track record of success in
driving rapid growth of Managed Services businesses.
Halperin
has particular expertise in Solutions Selling, which is critical to Managed
Services success. In fact, Michael is
the author of Executive for a Day™
Sales Training, a unique program that leverages experiential learning to help
sales people better understand the Executive perspective.
Michael
has a degree in Political Science from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania and
an MBA from the Katz Graduate School of Business at the University of
Pittsburgh. He is also a mentor for Year-Up, a non-profit dedicated to
providing urban young adults with the technical and professional skills
required to launch successful careers.
